Payment

We’ll begin with an introductory (free) phone call to determine how best to support your student. A First Lesson is a 30-minute lesson at a $90 rate. When registering for an ongoing weekly time slot for Zoom lessons, payment is due for the upcoming month’s lessons by the first lesson of the month. This allows for your time slot to be reserved. Payment is either by check or via Venmo by or at the first lesson of the month.

additional

Individual tutoring sessions are based on scheduling availability.

If a student is more than 15 minutes late, this constitutes a "no show," and the session will be charged at the full rate, even if a new session is scheduled.

I will also respect your time and wellness space and will offer a make-up Zoom session if I am (or one of my own children is) ill or an emergency forces a postponement.

Preparation

There is a charge for preparation when it is completed specifically for a student. In addition, short phone calls and emails will not be billed, but longer communications require scheduling and/or payment for a session. Examples of billed charges include:

  • Parent conferences

  • Phone calls longer than 5 minutes

  • Written reports or recommendation letters

  • Preparation for a session done specifically for your student

  • Essay reviewing

  • Attending School meetings

cancellation

Required 72-hours of notice to cancel without charge. This amount of time allows for me to communicate with other clients and offer the time to another student for make-up sessions. Less than 72-hours notice will result in being charged for the session, even if we reschedule. This policy reflects respect for everyone's time - student, teacher, and all families.

illness cancellation

We all understand that illness can occur suddenly. As a parent myself, I request that you please cancel sessions when students are sick or beginning to feel under the weather and focus on taking care of yourselves. I will do the same if I feel under the weather. Because of this understanding, I take on good faith when cancellations occur due to sickness, and I expect that these cancellations align with missed school days. When a student is sick, there is an option to reschedule the session as a Zoom session within the month, based on scheduling options. The sooner you contact me, the more likely we can find a workable time. Sometimes the best option is to have two sessions in a week. Cancellations made with fewer than 4 hours notice will be charged in full.
